"Never hide that smile."

A 24 year old female presented to our office stating that she didn't like her broken tooth. Additionally, she had silver crowns and she never liked how some of her front teeth were "smaller" to her.  Also, she would cover her mouth when she laughed. Our office found it hard to believe that a young lady so young and attractive would cover her smile but indeed, as we laughed about traffic in Los Angeles (she drove to visit us all the way from San Diego where she resides), we noted that she would repeatedly cover her laugh. We had to do something for her!  Never hide that smile! After a cosmetic consultation, we presented her with different conservative cosmetic options including Invisalign Express, gum contouring and metal-free crowns.  After we went over the benefits of each procedure we started together...

A view of her original smile. Notice the chip on her left lateral incisor. Her right lateral incisor and her right central incisor look smaller also. In her case, her teeth were actually NOT smaller than the others, it was that her gums around those teeth were just thicker - therefore, making her teeth "seem" smaller! If you look at her back molars, notice the metal crowns on both sides.

Another view of her original smile. Notice her two large metal crowns.

We used a combination of laser gum contouring, tooth colored cosmetic bonding and all porcelain restorations for the front teeth. To address her metal crowns, all porcelain eMax lithium-disilicate crowns were prescribed. We added different hues and stains to achieve a natural look.

Here is an after photo the day she received her new smile.  She was overjoyed and would never again have to hide that smile!

Here is another view showing her new all-porcelain crowns. Notice the hues and staining used to achieve a natural look.

We all enjoyed this case because not only were we able to get a young lady back her smile, she was more confident and glowing! She had such an engaging personality and her new smile would now personify that energy. Congratulations!
