Wake up to a healthier smile.
Sedation dentistry is a safe and effective treatment that allows maximum comfort during your dental procedure. Designed to be pleasant and seamless, your dental needs can be addressed in one visit! Anxious about dentistry, sedation may be what you a looking for.
How does sedation work? There are different types of sedation techniques used to maximize your comfort levels. Oral sedation involves a series of pills taken prior and during your dental appointment. IV Sedation includes the use of an IV to gently bring a patient slowly into a comfortable sleep. We also have an anesthesiologist on-call for cases requiring general anesthesia. No food or drink atleast 6 hours prior to a sedation treatment and NO driving after sedation appointments.
Safety is our priority. Our dental team is trained in Emergency First Aid/CPR and our doctors are certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Lifesupport (ACLS). With sensitive instrumentation, we monitor your treatment every step of the way from blood pressure, pulse, ECG, to the amount of oxygen in your body. We look for signs of snoring and sleep apnea during your sedation appointment and record the findings for you. If you have co-morbidities such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, cancer or taking MAOIs or SSRIs for anxiety, we establish clear and open lines of communication with your physician to establish a health care team-centered approach to your individualized treatment. Our office is also equipped with an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) in the event of an emergency in the office or in our surrounding community.
